What are Strategies?

A reusable template for your trading setups

A Strategy in TradeTrack is a reusable template for one of your trading setups. Instead of keeping your rules in your head (or scattered across notes), you describe the setup once — your entry rules, exit rules, risk rules, reference screenshots and notes — and then attach your trades to it.

Once trades are attached, TradeTrack automatically tracks two things for you:

  • Performance — win rate, profit factor, expectancy, average R:R and more, calculated only from trades that use this strategy.
  • Rule compliance — how often you actually followed your own rules, and whether following them improves your results.
Think of a Strategy as the answer to "Does this setup actually make money, and do I trade it the way I planned?"

Open Strategies from the main navigation. The page is titled "Strategies" with the subtitle "Your collection of trading strategies".

At the top you'll see tabs:

      • "My Strategies" — strategies you created.
      • "Shared with me" — strategies other traders shared with you (read-only, but you can copy them into your own account).
Use the "Search strategies..." field to filter by name.

      List view vs. grid view

You can browse your strategies as a grid of cards or as a list/table. Both show quick performance stats so you can compare setups at a glance:

      • Trades — number of trades attached
      • Net P&L — total profit/loss
      • Win Rate
      • Profit Factor
      • Avg R:R
      • Expectancy
Each strategy is marked "Public" or "Private".

      What's inside a Strategy

Open any strategy ("View Details") to see it organised into tabs:

      • "Overview" — performance statistics and rule-compliance charts
      • "Rules" — your rule groups and rules
      • "Trades" — recent trades that use this strategy
      • "Gallery" — annotated chart screenshots
      • "Backtests" — backtests linked to this strategy
      • "Notes" — free-form notes (e.g. "Strategy Description", "How to Use")

      Next steps

      • Creating a strategy — build your first one in two steps
      • Rules & rule groups — structure your entry/exit/risk rules
      • Attaching a strategy to a trade — start collecting data
      • Strategy statistics — read your performance and compliance
