Supported formats
Files exported from MT5: XML (Excel 2007), XLSX, CSV, and HTML. The most reliable option is Open XML (MS Office Excel 2007).Before you start
- Create a trading account in TradeTrack and select MetaTrader 5 as the terminal.
- Make sure your MT5 History includes the closed trades you want to import for the period you need.
Part 1. Export a file from MetaTrader 5
Step 1. Open the History tab. Choose a period that covers the trades you want to import (for example, last month or all time).

Step 2. Right-click anywhere on the report. In the menu, choose Report → Open XML (MS Office Excel 2007) or HTML.

Step 3. Save the file on your computer. Remember where you saved it — you will need this file for import in TradeTrack.

Two common paths — use whichever fits your workflow.
Option A — during account setup
- After creating an account, go to the Add trades step.
- Open the Import tab.
- Under Export terminal, select MetaTrader 5.
- Drag the file into the upload area or click to choose it from your disk.

Option B — from the account page
- In the menu, open Accounts and select the account you trade on in MT5.
- Go to the Import tab.
- Upload the exported file.

After upload, TradeTrack processes the file and shows a list of trades found: symbol, type, entry/exit dates, profit.

- Review the list — all trades are selected by default.
- Uncheck any rows you do not want to import (Deselect all / Select all).
- Click Save.
Duplicates
If some trades are already in your journal, TradeTrack skips them and shows a duplicate warning. That is expected — importing the same file again will not create copies.
Common issues
- File cannot be read — make sure it is an MT5 History report, not another document. Try the Open XML format.
- No trades found in the file — check the period on the History tab; it must include closed trades. Also confirm the report language is one we support. If you use plugins that change how the report looks, the file may not parse correctly.
- Save failed — try again. If it still fails, contact support via chat on the website.
When to import again
After new closed trades in MT5, export an updated report for the new period and upload it. Trades already in TradeTrack will be skipped.
