How to connect cTrader to TradeTrack

Sync trades into your journal automatically—or import a cTrader history file.

TradeTrack connects to cTrader through a secure OAuth login. You never enter your cTrader password in TradeTrack — you sign in through cTrader’s own authorization window. Access is read-only: trades sync for journaling, and TradeTrack cannot place or change orders.

Why connect cTrader

cTrader accounts can generate a lot of executions, and adding them by hand is slow and error-prone. Once connected, your trades appear in TradeTrack automatically, so you can add sessions, setups, mistakes, and notes for review.

What you need
  • A TradeTrack account
  • A trading account in the app set to cTrader
  • Your cTrader ID or broker login

You don’t need to keep the cTrader desktop app open — sync runs through the authorized connection. Trades refresh automatically (about once an hour), and you can also run a manual sync from the account page.

Step-by-step
  1. Create your TradeTrack account — sign up and verify your email if prompted.
  2. Add a trading account — give it a clear name (broker, challenge phase, demo or live).
  3. Select cTrader as the platform for this account.
  4. Choose integration (OAuth), not a one-time file upload.
  5. Authorize cTrader — sign in and approve access in the cTrader window.
  6. Select your cTrader account (demo or live) to link.
  7. Wait for sync — the first import may take longer with a large history. Check the last sync time, or run a manual sync.
  8. Review your journal — confirm positions and PnL match cTrader, then add sessions, setup tags, mistakes, and notes (these aren’t imported automatically).
Alternative: file import

If you prefer not to use OAuth: in cTrader go to History → pick a date range → Export → save as CSV or HTML. Then upload the file in TradeTrack, check the preview, and confirm. Duplicates are skipped.

What you still add manually

Sync brings in executions and PnL. You add the rest yourself: session and market context, setup and playbook tags, screenshots and mistake tags, and the comments used in statistics.

FAQ

Does it work with prop firm cTrader accounts?
Usually yes — use the same login you trade with. If the firm blocks external connections, check their rules.

Do I need the desktop app running?
No — OAuth sync uses the authorized connection.

Can I use file import instead?
Yes, if integration isn’t right for your account type.

Are forex and CFD trades both imported?
Trades visible to the integration import; details depend on what your broker exposes via cTrader.

Where to find it

Trading accounts → open the cTrader account → cTrader integration block (connect, sync, optional file import).
